Hi first post,

looking to make a nozzle/jet to create a 30ft wide arch by say 10ft high..affraid

Any suggestions..

We are looking at using 12inch diameter pipe, and two sump pumps in parrallel.

What sort of flow and pressure would we need.

Any idea of best size for inlet and outlet.

any hints and tips..

Very impressed with whats gone on here, and your great success with 8 inch nozzles...

Now its time to step it up a gear !!

Really looking forward to this project , and sharing it with you.

Pipe on order. bounce

Going to light this up, with a 40w RGB led..

look forward to your help and sharing..

Dubz cheers

What outlet size are you thinking of using?

I am also planning on building a nozzle for our science museum. Does the gallons per minute effect the height of the stream or is there a point in which the stream just breakes up. I'm thinking the size of the stream is more important that gph. I am planning on shooting the steram almost straight up. I am building some water exhibit and my space is limited.

Estimating the flow and the resultant height can be done by calculations. I'm pretty busy today or I would write up the equations again. I once had a spreadsheet to estimate the height based on angle, flow, size of outlet, and number of nozzles but I have lost it. All i have is this picture of it.

It shouldn't be too difficult to reproduce.

Thanks.

so am I right in thinking that.. at 1/2 inch nozzle eventually you will find a max, as you increase flow/pressure from pump, and that more flow will just cause it to break up?

So by resizing the nozzle to say an inch and then incresing the flow will it travel even further?
