I have been working on my museum exhibit jumping jets. I have built an 8" dia. It's too big, 4" dia. didn't work very well, too small and 6" dia. which works well. I built 4 of them and have been working on the cutter. I have one that works great using an electric solenoid. I'm concerned with safety and have switched to a pneumatic cylinder. The 5/16" bore 1/2" travel @ 20 psi. works like a champ. I'll post a video when I do more testing. It should be very safe because I can remote the electronics.
