Hi Jahroen,
Your project looks very very interesting to me, because it seems that you are using the same PVC material. I have also build a 5 inch nozzle with a removable cap and bottom. What have you used for the outlet? I am using aluminium sheets. I also have found someone with a column drill. Unfortunately, there was ample time for experimenting this summer, because there was too much rain.

aluminium tube is what i use to make the exit hole, tube is 20mm hole is 10mm.
i dont use any powertools just a saw and sandpaper

update
aquarium filtersponge instead of straws.
what first looked like pomp jidder was actualy uneven pressure in the lower part
of the nozzle and got transported via the straws to the top of the nozzle.
so by replacing the straws with aquarium filtersponge i got rid of most jidder in the stream.
this is without the lowpassfilter .

Re: upgrade from 3" to 5"
great progress !
Straws is not always something you need to make a laminar stream.
all you need is to make the water flow slowly up to the top without any turbulence.
