REAL Fiberstars Optic Laminar Jet, INSIDE PICS !
I recently got myself a original Fiberstar Optic Laminar jet .
I found it cheap @ eBay, and I just HAD to buy it I know it`s all about building laminar nozzle.
But this was so cheap that I had to buy it, and the fact is that my home-made nozzle is suffering allot of dirt from my water.
The Fiberstars Nozzle is pretty simple, and they work AWESOME !
The beam is high, and long.
It has a 8-10mm fiber optic tube inside to house the light at bottom.
I tried to open everything UP, but it`s glued all together.
As you can see on the picture, there is no straw.
The water enter a 4" long pipe with many big holes on the side camber.
Then it`s looping back to the bottom and enter the second inner chamber.
The inner chamber only have mesh on the top (see pictures), I tried to remove the mesh on top.
But it seems like there is another and another one under it.. they are all glued
Pictures:
The smart thing about this is that there is 2 big caps on each side.
When you open the caps you can easy clean out all dirt inside
You can also notice the pipe that goes from the water input, with many holes.
Cheers :-)
Maybe this can be a idea to build new nozzles without straws?

Re inside view
Hi looks like an excellent design. Any chance of giving us some dimensions of overall unit and spacings of mesh etc. A rough diagram would be great! John Jarvis

Looks great! You probably haven't hooked it up yet, but do you know what size of arc that will output?

When I got time I will check the size for you
But I would guess it`s almost 4" in diameeter, and 8-10" long .
The output seems pretty big, 3cm maybe.
I will hook it up outside when ti STOP SNOWING

Just hook it up in your house!!!
Laminar streams are beautiful indoors and outdoors!
Is there a cutting option on the fiberstars? Is there a way to control the lighting?

I did try it in my bathroom, and the beam hit the roof so my bath is to small for my pumps haha
Cutting opening?
There is a input in the bottom, there you can add a LED or put in some fiber optic cables !
There is a fat acrylic\optic tube going in the middle to transfer the light into PERFECT middle of the output hole.

I meant a cutting mechanism to make it jump.
About the light pipe, is there any sort of shape to it at the top (for example a lens type shape). Do they focus the light at the exit? How far is the light pipe from the exit orifice?

No there is no cutter.. This is only a laminar jet !
The top of the optic light stick is totally flat, the bottom of the light stick is also flat.
So all you need to do is put some powerful led in the bottom of the optic stuff inside...

ah..
yes it seems like the "flat" top of the LED optic is 2-3 cm away from the output hole.

There is only a Fiber optic rod (do you call it ROD\stick\tube...?) inside..
I guess you just buy the Fiberstar LED module to place inside the ROD.
