Life of Straws

Does anyone have any idea how long these drinking straws will work? I am making this laminar fountain for a professional organization and they are demanding low maintenance and high functionality for years. I don't think that these straws will last for more than 6 months. Does anyone the know mechanism of these jets installed at Burj-al-arab, Detroit airport or anything relevant?
what can be the alternative of these straws and will it give the same result?

Mine straws are 7 years old and still working
